The Nancy Watten Continuing Education Scholarship

Each year Farmers Branch-Carrollton AAUW raises money to fund a local scholarship. The amount of money awarded depends on the success of money-raising efforts and the number of applications. The amount is usually between $500 and $1000.

This scholarship is intended to lend support to women who have stopped or delayed their education for a period of time, but are returning to college to complete a degree. If you know of a student who you believe would be a good candidate, please encourage her to apply. Scholarship requirements:

  • Woman who stopped or delayed her education for a period of time.
  • Will enroll in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program no later than the fall of the application deadline year.
  • Will attend an accredited educational institution within the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex or resides in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
  • Has not previously completed a bachelor’s degree.

Applicants from previous years, including successful applicants, are welcome to re-apply. Applications will be considered on the basis of merit and financial need. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
